THERE IS NO SPLIT LIKE SPLIT

Right across the sea from Italy, in the bang smack middle of the Croatian coast lies Split. Built by Romans, used by Venetians, re-decorated and urbanised by Napoleon's generals, it is a beautiful city where Dalmatian tradition and urban living sit at the same table enjoying a macchiato.

Why don't you come down to boutique hostel Goli+Bosi and get one too?

With a nice terrace taking over most of a Morpurgova poljana (it is a square called Morpurgo's meadow) snack pizzeria De*Belly is a great place for a quick bite even if you are staying someplace else. Menu is rich and cooks are good, so sit down, order a coffee or a breakfast beer or whatever you like and relax for minute. Your aching feet command it!

All of the food at De*belly is prepared from fresh ingredients and for any wallet size.

SPLIT

Built in the 4th century by a retired Roman emperor that wanted to grow cabage in peace and take sluphur baths for his aching bones, Split is the second largest city in Croatia, but probably the first city of Croatia when it comes to beauty. The narrow streets of the Old Town, criss-crossed by drying laundry, small fishermen's port of Matejuška, sandy beach of Bačvice and shaded rocks of Marjan all tell the same story. Split rules. It is the only place in Croatia where you can hop on a ferry and spend the day on one of the islands and return in the evening for cocktails and dancing in the streets. On the other hand, you might think you will just pass through Split and stay for a week. We love Split. Once you meet it, you will love it too.

WEATHER IN SPLIT

Split receives more than 2,600 sunshine hours annually. July is the hottest month, with an average high temperature around 30 °C (86 °F). January is the coldest month, with an average low temperature around 5 °C (41 °F)
